After several years of journalistic work for national newspapers and magazines, Lars Kühn switched to federal politics in 1997. When the red-green federal government took office, he initially organized the press work of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Construction and Housing.
After the government moved from Bonn to Berlin, he became spokesman for the Social Democratic Party (SPD) executive committee and spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group and was responsible media side for two federal election campaigns during this time.
After retiring from politics, Lars Kühn took on numerous consulting mandates in politics and business and worked as a partner and board member for various companies. Until the sale of Joschka Fischer & Company, Lars Kühn is a shareholder of the consulting firm.
